Role overview

Temporary role: Technical Content Lead for Transaction Monitoring (TM) Detection within Wholesale & Rural (W&R). You are a strategic, non-hierarchical leader who shapes, governs and evolves detection logic and advanced analytics capabilities across multiple squads and stakeholders. You do not have direct reports but are accountable for raising the performance, quality and maturity of Data Scientists through coaching and content leadership. You are a core member of the Sub Area Leadership Team (SALT) and a representative in cross-area technical decision-making and standard-setting.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive migration: Accelerate the migration of multiple W&R locations into the Detection model.
  • Own detection logic: Carry responsibility for large parts of detection logic and alignment between W&R and RNL detection functionalities.
  • Introduce advanced analytics: Implement techniques such as machine learning and network analytics in close collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Strategic sparring: Act as a sparring partner for senior colleagues and content leads, driving strategic and technical priorities.
  • Leadership team contribution: Join SALT and contribute to people management, prioritization and long-term strategy.
  • Cross-functional alignment: Lead alignment with IT, Architecture and FEC TM to create a robust path to production for data science models.
  • Best practices & coaching: Drive adoption of best practices, standards and ways of working, provide hands-on guidance and coach (senior) data scientists.
  • Build capability: Close knowledge gaps, organize hackathons and empower peers to take initiative and deliver change.
  • Impact-driven modelling: Focus on models that realize measurable impact (e.g., detecting criminal behaviour), not only on technical complexity.
  • Communication & collaboration: Communicate clearly and adapt messaging to diverse roles, working effectively with Data Scientists, Solution Architects, Scenario Experts, DevOps Engineers, Product Owners and Analytics Translators.

Profile

  • Education: Academic degree (MSc / PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related STEM field.
  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in advanced analytics, modelling or AI in complex regulated environments, including bringing (advanced) models and systems to production.
  • Personal qualities: Structured, precise, communicative, able to work well with different people and roles; organisational sensitivity and experience in high-stakes decision making; able to inspire confidence and drive change in complex stakeholder environments.
