Cleanroom DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, implement, automate, test and support a Cleanroom (ransomware recovery) environment focused on ransomware protection and rapid recovery. You will deliver and maintain an autonomous, secure environment that enables speedy recovery of affected systems into ring-fenced environments for analysis, malware cleansing and restoration.

What you will be responsible for

• Design, build and improve infrastructure for security, recovery and automation.
• Protect and recover both application data and infrastructure configuration data.
• Support and optimize security and recovery for compute, converged, storage, backup and archive environments (environment scope includes thousands of VMs and petabytes of data across regions).
• Ensure Cleanroom systems meet security standards and maintain day-to-day support, including incident, problem and change management.
• Implement network segmentation, RBAC and privilege management to harden and isolate environments.
• Work as part of a small, multidisciplinary international squad to expand and operate an autonomous bootstrap recovery solution that is practical, supportable, performant and compliant.
• Share knowledge and collaborate across teams and services.

Required skills and knowledge

• Proficiency in VMware Aria Automation.
• Understanding of ransomware resilience strategies, including recovery planning, immutable backups and air gapping.
• Knowledge of security hardening best practices.
• Experience with role-based access control (RBAC) and privilege management.
• Understanding of common malware techniques and attacker behaviour.
• Experience with vulnerability management and risk assessment.
• Understanding of cryptography, certificate handling and secrets management.
• Ability to implement and manage network segmentation.

Preferred

• Experience with Terraform.
• Familiarity with Ansible.

• Practical and security-minded, with strong automation skills and the ability to build supportable recovery solutions.
