Back-end Developer — Personal Financial Management (PFM)

Role

You will design, build and maintain the back-end services that power personal financial features. You deliver scalable, reliable solutions that enable customers to gain financial insights, manage their finances and make informed decisions. You work closely with front-end engineers, product owners, designers and other development teams to deliver seamless end-to-end customer experiences and continuously improve our financial products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable back-end services and APIs.
• Ensure reliability, performance and future-proof architecture of platform solutions.
• Collaborate with front-end, platform, architecture and product teams to uncover use cases and deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Reuse and extend existing components where appropriate to accelerate delivery.
• Contribute to continuous improvement through experimentation, building, launching and iteration.

Your profile

• Experience: Senior professional level with 5+ years developing complex software solutions in a platform environment.
• Technical expertise: Strong Java skills; deep knowledge of microservices and APIs; experience creating scalable, framework-independent solutions; familiarity with browser APIs. GraphQL knowledge is a plus.
• Design mindset: Able to create flexible, future-proof APIs and judge when abstractions are appropriate versus overengineering.
• Personal qualities: Reacts quickly, keeps the bigger picture in mind, thinks ahead and performs well under pressure; excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Eisen

• We are looking for 1 FTE
• Please clearly indicate in the motivation field whether the candidate has
  any planned vacation or special leave during the duration of this
  assignment
• Please provide in the CV whether an internal reference can be requested
• Senior professional level, with 5+ years developing complex software
  solutions in a platform environment with experience in creating scalable,
  framework independent solutions with vast knowledge of browser APIs
• The squad needs good Java-experts with emphasis on creating scalable,
  framework independent solutions with vast knowledge of microservices and
  APIs
• We would like to receive the personal motivation of the candidate and CV in
  English
• Candidate should be submitted exclusively to Magnit – Rabobank during the
  exclusivity period of 4 business days on one request
• Furthermore, the candidate has to be available throughout the entire
  duration of the assignment
• All submitted candidates must be in possession of a valid passport or ID
  card, which must be taken along to the interview and at the start of the
  assignment
• If the candidate is selected to start, a pre-employment screening will be
  executed
• Your candidate is only allowed to start after the pre-employment screening
  has been completed successfully
• Midlance constructions are not allowed according to Rabobank policy
• Suppliers must be aware of the laws and regulations regarding employment
  conditions and Rabobank’s Collective Labour Agreement
• This assignment is placed in Scale 9
• Due to the congestion at the parking lot at the Rabobank location
  Croeselaan in Utrecht, a new parking policy will be introduced as of April
  2026
• From Monday through Thursday, external staff will no longer be able to park
  at the Croeselaan
• Parking for external staff will remain permitted on Fridays only

Gunningscriteria
