Position

Title: Dev Ops Engineer

Language: English (mandatory)

Role overview

You will design, build and maintain ETL architectures and data pipelines to transfer structured and unstructured data into a Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) object store, create searchable archives, and deliver standard secure interfaces for search and analytics. You will code, test, document and hand over solutions, communicate progress and risk, and meet aggressive delivery timescales.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and build ETL architecture to transfer structured and non-structured data into HCP object storage for archiving.
  • Build bespoke archives to satisfy business solutions such as regulation and compliance.
  • Create a generic framework to ingest decommissioned application data into searchable archives.
  • Deliver a standard, secure interface for searching archives.
  • Anticipate demand and innovate existing solutions.
  • Code, test, document and maintain standardised, automated data pipelines.
  • Design and build infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading from varied data sources.
  • Build analytics tools using the data pipeline to provide actionable business insights.
  • Responsible for testing, documentation and handover to the customer.
  • Communicate progress and risk to the team and deliver to meet tight timescales.

Business knowledge & technical skills

  • Experience building and optimising big data pipelines, architectures and datasets.
  • Strong analytical skills with structured and non-structured datasets.
  • Experience building processes for data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
  • Proven ability manipulating, combining, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in dynamic environments.
  • Knowledge of SIARD (Software Independent Archiving of Relational Databases).

Must have

  • In-depth experience developing Python or PowerShell scripts across Windows and Linux.
  • Experience with at least one object-oriented language: C#, JavaScript or .NET.
  • Experience with UI development, ideally with React.

Desirable

  • Experience creating playbooks in Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Working knowledge of MSSQL and Oracle databases.
  • Knowledge of Hitachi Content Platform.
  • Knowledge of Solr.
