Senior DevOps Engineer / Senior IAM Engineer — One Identity Access Management

Job description

You are a senior DevOps engineer with strong expertise in One Identity and Identity Governance & Administration (IGA). You focus on analyzing, remediating, improving, and automating IAM services in complex and regulated environments, combining engineering depth with a strong understanding of control effectiveness, evidencing, and sustainable service improvement. This senior engineering role combines service remediation, technical improvement, and control automation to deliver more effective, controllable, and scalable IAM services.

What you will do

• Remediate existing One Identity services and configurations to improve control effectiveness, service stability, and audit readiness.
• Automate manual service and control-related activities to improve efficiency, consistency, and traceability.
• Translate control findings, operational issues, and technical risks into sustainable engineering improvements.
• Improve evidencing, monitoring, and technical substantiation for IAM services in scope of control execution.
• Contribute to scalable and reusable engineering patterns within the One Identity landscape.

Top 3 responsibilities

• Design and implement structural improvements in One Identity services that remediate deficiencies and improve IAM control effectiveness.
• Drive automation of service and control-related activities to reduce manual effort and increase consistency, traceability, and control maturity.
• Work with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and engineers to translate findings into backlog-ready technical solutions that can be embedded in the team’s way of working.

Continuous improvement

You are critical of current processes, technical patterns, and manual workarounds, and you actively contribute to making IAM services more robust, scalable, and controllable. You take ownership for quality and ensure solutions include effective control design, technical transparency, and automation.

Requirements

• Education: Academic working and thinking level, preferably Bachelor or Master in a relevant field.
• Extensive experience as a DevOps Engineer, Software Engineer, or IAM Engineer in a complex IT environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with One Identity Manager and Identity Governance & Administration patterns.
• Proficient in SQL; able to analyze, validate, and improve data quality, queries and control-relevant datasets within the One Identity landscape.
• Hands-on experience with supporting technologies such as SQL Server, APIs/web services, scripting and automation tooling, job services, data mapping, and system integrations in a complex IAM/IGA environment.
• Strong knowledge of IAM concepts: provisioning, deprovisioning, recertification, reconciliation, Segregation of Duties, RBAC, ABAC, PBAC, and API orchestration.
• Proven experience in remediation and improvement of existing IAM services (not only greenfield development).
• Experience automating manual service activities, control-related activities, or evidencing and monitoring processes.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to identify root causes of recurring technical or control deficiencies.
• Ability to translate technical and control findings into sustainable design and implementation improvements.
• Experience working in regulated environments with high expectations on traceability, evidencing, and operational control.
• Strong communication in English and Dutch (mandatory).
• Able to work effectively with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Risk & Compliance, architects, and engineers.
• Comfortable operating where priorities are influenced by both service delivery and control maturity objectives.
• Strong judgment, decision making, complex problem-solving, and collaboration skills; ability to raise the maturity of others in the team.
